Since I added a Unichip to my list of mods I hadn't been out to the dragstrip to really measure my performance gains. That is until last weekend. All in all it was a fun day and I was able to post a couple of really good runs and prove my performance gains. What was really missing was some other Mini's to run against. While I did manage to win 2 of my 7 races, most of the time I had a good view of the back of a lot of big block powered beasts.

I think we need another track day so ...

The Trinity Site is where the first atomic bomb was assembled and tested. Yes, you can stand at ground zero safely now. You can also see the farmhouse where the bomb was assembled.

After we finish checking out the Trinity Site we head over to the NRAO-VLA. If you ever saw the movie "Contact" you probably know the array as it is where Jodi Foster spent most of her time. Of course, she was in a warehouse ...

Saturday, Sept. 26 we are heading to Taos up the high road. Might just stop there for the day and play tourist. The route back is optinal, but there are some different roads I've been wanting to try out...

Unless other suggestions are made, the plan is to depart Albuquerque at 8:00 a.m. Saturday from the Flying ...

After a talk with my favorite Mini tech guy, I have come to the conclusion I want a JCW airbox to do some mods on. Ultimately using that to replace what's left of my stock "S" airbox after the K&N CAI install. So if anyone has a JCW that replaced the stock airbox with a CAI (cold air intake) then I might want to buy your old one.
Dyno Day in Albuquerque

SO, Faron has this friend, who knows this guy...

...with a dyno. Looks like he needs $400 to run 10 cars through the dyno.

We need all those R56 owners who have put down the long green on the Alta Turbo-back to come out and see how many ponies they are laying on the ground.

...and I'll throw down the challenge to all you turbo drivers. You'll beat me in the TQE department easily, but I don't know about the WHP...

Let's get this happening.

In previous forums I remember some owners having difficulty with repalcement windshields, and I don't want to encounter similar problems. I have asked my insurance agency to try and get permission for the dealer to do the replacement, but I got the standard "we have agreed upon rates that the dealerw on't meet" story.

If anyone ...
