I just bought new tires from Perry at his Firestone store on Montgomery. It was a good experience and he had my new tires mounted while I had lunch at the pool hall. Perry also sold me the wheels and tires for my 07 Mini and two sets for my Honda. He owns at least two Minis and is a good technical resource.

1. Can a run-flat tire be safely and adequately repaired using a standard radial tire plug kit that can be purchased at an auto parts store?

Looking for a JCW intake airbox . . .

After a talk with my favorite Mini tech guy, I have come to the conclusion I want a JCW airbox to do some mods on. Ultimately using that to replace what's left of my stock "S" airbox after the K&N CAI install. So if anyone has a JCW that replaced the stock airbox with a CAI (cold air intake) then I might want to buy your old one. Otherwise I'm going to start fabricating a better airbox to test some new ideas on.

My goal is dropping the intake air charge temp by lowering ...

SO, Faron has this friend, who knows this guy...

...with a dyno. Looks like he needs $400 to run 10 cars through the dyno.

We need all those R56 owners who have put down the long green on the Alta Turbo-back to come out and see how many ponies they are laying on the ground.

...and I'll throw down the challenge to all you turbo drivers. You'll beat me in the TQE department easily, but I don't know about the WHP...

Let's get this happening.

Replacing my Mini's Windshield

I'm needing to replace my mini's windshield. My insurance agency is recommending a certain un-named glass shop where they will replace it with PPG glass. In previous forums I remember some owners having difficulty with repalcement windshields, and I don't want to encounter similar problems. I have asked my insurance agency to try and get permission for the dealer to do the replacement, but I got the standard "we have agreed upon rates that the dealerw on't meet" story.

If anyone ...

I actually have two vehicles that need tint. While I will porbably do the the Jeep myself (it's an older 4x4 that sees rough duty) I'd rather take the MINI to a shop and have it professionally done. Anyone have a favorite tint shop? Has anyone encountered issues with tint on the rear window effecting the defroster?

Dyno Tune in El Paso April 11

Mynes Performance tuning, one of the leading tuners of the R53 will be in El Paso on Saturday April 11 for a tuning day on the dyno. This is truly the best $$$ you'll spend on your modified R53. The tune is $350 plus a very reasonable dyno cost of $100. I have had an RMW dyno tune and it made an incredible difference in the power and feel of the car, so I can highly recommend this event. I will be there to get some more power out of my recently installed cam and straight exhaust.
