Finally an owner
I picked up my 2011 MCS convertible yesterday - what a perfect day to enjoy my first day of ownership with the top down! Any thoughts on getting a drive together?

Re: Finally an owner
Congrats on Rosebud, Mighty Mini! You're in for great fun. This time of year gets really difficult to gather people for drives, but maybe we can round up a few for a quick zip. Maybe to the Crest, or east mountain drive t o Santa Fe?

Re: Finally an owner
I am so new to New Mexico (only been here a year) that I've just not really paid attention as my last car was no fun. I am open to hearing from those more experienced. And a quick run somewhere (or waiting until the New Year) is fine. My husband and I are taking the week before Christmas off and plan on driving all over the state and maybe to a neighboring state. :-)

Re: Finally an owner
A few suggestions with some fun roads:
Hwy 14 south through Mountainair, then to Lincoln. If you're just exploring, go toward Ruidoso then down to Cloudcroft on Hwy 244. There are great drives out of Cloudcroft (look on Google Maps). You can go see White Sands from there, or Carlsbad Caverns. If you go north, do the enchanted circle: Taos, Red River, Angel Fire; or northwest to Chaco Canyon and into Arizona to see Canyon de Chelley. Closer to home is the beautiful drive through Jemez Springs to Los Alamos.

Re: Finally an owner
Congratulations on your new MINI. I'm a little late on suggestions for motoring around your state(I'm from Texas) but Highway 191 just over the border in Arizona is a really nice run. Yelrsub already beat me to my other suggestions.

Re: Finally an owner
Would anyone be up for a drive on Jan 22 or 23? I'll be in town and would love to find some windy roads to explore with other Mini owners, especially the newest one.

Re: Finally an owner
Oops, I just saw this message. I tentatively set up a drive this Sunday the 17th. Let's see what happens this weekend and we can try another net weekend if the weather holds up. If not, we can get together in town somewhere.

Re: Finally an owner
I'm always up for a drive. 22 or 23 ok for me. I need to be vack in town on the 23rd by 5 or 6. Working Sat night.
Idea . . .I'm engineering the evening of the 22nd for a rather good band. They play everything from Classic Rock to Funk. Perhaps a drive in the afternoon then meet up at The Barley Room for dinner and the show?

Re: Finally an owner
Friends are having a big party Sat night. Otherwise, a drive/dinner/concert would have been great.
